Abstract: Afro-Consumers with short relaxed or natural hair experience frustrations during styling. Due to market demand in this category, the aim was to create a standardized evaluation method for gestures that are inclusive and consumer centric. Multiple studies were conducted on volunteers of African Origin (aged 18–50) in Nairobi, Kenya. A standardized scale (0–5) and sensory atlas were designed using SIMS software to translate efficacy information into reliable raw data, validating performance claims over 4 years of testing.
